Travis Scott asks a judge to dismiss his trespassing case from a June incident in Miami, arguing there were no visible “No Trespassing” signs at the marina.
Bollywood Fever: Travis Scott is looking to move past his June arrest, as his legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the trespassing case against him.
The rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, submitted the request on Tuesday, arguing that Scott cannot be found guilty of trespassing because there were no visible “No Trespassing” signs at the Miami Beach Marina where the incident occurred.
Scott’s legal team contends that while there were signs on the surrounding private property, these do not apply to his presence at the marina itself.
Additionally, they argue that the case should be dismissed due to the location of Scott’s arrest, noting that he was technically arrested at the address of a private parking lot, not the marina.
The incident in question occurred in June when Scott allegedly got into an argument with yacht staff at the marina.
Police claim they instructed him to leave the area, but he returned minutes later and became belligerent, leading to his arrest.
Scott was initially charged with trespassing and disorderly intoxication, though prosecutors have since dropped the intoxication charge.
Scott’s trespassing trial is currently scheduled for September. It remains to be seen whether the judge will grant his motion to dismiss the case.
