Treat Williams, 71, Passes Away Following Motorcycle Accident
Beloved Actor Treat Williams, known for his notable roles in “Hair” and “Everwood,” has tragically passed away due to a motorcycle accident. According to his agent, Barry McPherson, Williams was involved in a collision after a car abruptly cut him off while he was making a turn. McPherson expresses his profound grief, describing Williams as an exceptionally kind-hearted individual with immense talent.
The incident occurred on Monday in Dorset, Vermont, as reported by People magazine.
Having a career that spanned several decades, Treat Williams made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. His talent shone through in various roles, including a recent appearance on the TV series “Blue Bloods” earlier this year. Notably, in the early 2000s, Williams portrayed Dr. Andrew Brown in almost 100 episodes of the beloved show “Everwood.” Furthermore, his portrayal of Berger in the 1979 film adaptation of “Hair” remains a memorable highlight of his extensive filmography.
Recognized for his outstanding performances, Treat Williams garnered three Golden Globe nominations throughout his career. These nominations were attributed to his exceptional work in films such as “Hair,” “Prince of the City,” and “A Streetcar Named Desire.” Additionally, Williams received acclaim for his portrayal in the 1996 television movie “The Late Shift,” earning him a prestigious Best Actor Emmy nomination.
Treat Williams is survived by his loving wife, Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gill and Ellie.
