Trevoh Chalobah joins Crystal Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 25-year-old defender looks forward to contributing to Palace’s ambitions in the Premier League.
Bollywood Fever: Defender Trevoh Chalobah has made a move to Crystal Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea, as confirmed by both Premier League clubs on Saturday.Â
The 25-year-old, who has been with Chelsea since the age of eight, will spend the 2023-24 season at Selhurst Park, bolstering Palace’s defensive options.
Chalobah, who previously had loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, and Lorient, made 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season.
His campaign was disrupted by a hamstring injury that sidelined him for six months, but he is now fit and eager to contribute to his new team.
“I’m delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace,” Chalobah said in a statement. “I know some of the boys in the squad well, and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park.”
Chalobah’s arrival at Crystal Palace comes as part of a busy transfer window for the club.
On transfer deadline day, Palace also secured the services of forward Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal and defender Maxence Lacroix from VfL Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sam Johnstone departed for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Crystal Palace will visit Chelsea on Sunday, where Chalobah could face his parent club as the Eagles look to strengthen their position in the Premier League with their new signings.
