Tulsa pastor Bertheophilus ‘Judge’ Bailey has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse, rape, and incest after his daughter, Harmony Oates, bravely came forward to reveal years of abuse.
BollywoodFever: Bertheophilus ‘Judge’ Bailey, a respected pastor at St Andrew Christian Church in Tulsa, has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including rape, child sexual abuse, incest, forcible sodomy, and burglary, following his daughter Harmony Oates’ revelations about years of abuse. Oates, now 22, accused her father of sexually abusing her from the time she was in sixth grade, a pattern that continued into adulthood.
Bailey, 45, had previously faced felony charges of lewd molestation, which were dropped, and in 2013, he admitted to child abuse by injury against another of his children. Despite this, he continued to hold his position as a pastor, while his daughter silently endured the abuse.
A Lifetime of Trauma Unveiled
Oates, who had lived in fear of speaking out due to her father’s authority and influence, detailed the horrors she faced. She shared that Bailey manipulated her, telling her she would unleash “a total catastrophe to the whole kingdom of God” if she ever revealed what he was doing. The abuse escalated as she grew older, with Bailey eventually raping her after she turned 16.
Even after moving out, marrying, and having a baby, Oates couldn’t escape her father’s reach. According to court documents, Bailey broke into her home in 2021, forcibly sodomized her, and continued to stalk her afterward.
A Family Confronts the Truth
After years of suffering in silence, Oates began confiding in her husband, brother, and eventually her mother, Aricca. Together, they confronted Bailey, and in a series of text messages included in the affidavit, Bailey admitted his guilt, confessing to being “an adulterer, child molester, and rapist.” He also revealed to his therapist that he had abused his daughter, although he expressed frustration that his disclosures in therapy were not kept confidential.
The Decision to Press Charges
In August 2023, Oates finally decided to go to the police, and in September, she publicly announced that she was ready to press charges against her father. In a powerful Facebook post, she shared how the abuse had poisoned her relationships and sense of self-worth, but also expressed her determination to no longer remain silent.
