Two suspects are facing charges in connection with the fatal stabbing of an off-duty postal worker in Oregon. The community rallies in support of the victim’s family as details of the tragic attack emerge.
Oregon, BollywoodFever: Two suspects are now facing charges in connection with the deadly stabbing of Tristan Thomas, a 43-year-old off-duty postal worker from Oregon.
Samantha Christensen, 48, surrendered to the Clackamas County Jail on Wednesday and faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, hindering prosecution, and interference with making a report. She is being held on a $250,000 bail.
Christensen and her cousin, Chad Michael Westover, 52, are charged in relation to the October 3rd death of Thomas, following a stabbing attack. Initially, Westover was indicted for first-degree assault, but the charges were upgraded after Thomas’ death, according to reports from KPTV.

Court documents reveal that the altercation began on September 21 when Thomas called the police to report a dispute with a neighbor over a parking issue at their Clackamas apartment complex.
Officers found evidence of an altercation, including that Thomas had used pepper spray, but no arrests were made. Thomas visited a hospital for his injuries but received no treatment and returned home later that evening.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., Thomas made a final 911 call reporting that he was being confronted by his neighbor, Christensen, Westover, and the neighbor’s 16-year-old daughter. The start of the attack was captured on the 911 call.
According to Christensen, her neighbor had been at her house when he received a call from his daughter, alleging that a man, identified as Thomas, had been stalking her. The group went to confront Thomas, resulting in the fatal altercation. Cell phone footage captured part of the interaction, with Westover allegedly telling the group, “If you guys are done filming, I’ll take care of it.” Christensen responded, “I’m done. Take care of it, Chad,” before Westover moved toward Thomas.
During the attack, Westover claimed that Thomas had a large kitchen knife and attempted to stab him, although court records also show evidence of Westover’s injuries. Audio from the incident captured Thomas screaming for help as the neighbor pleaded with Westover to release him.
After the attack, Westover and Christensen fled the scene. Authorities later found Thomas suffering from multiple stab wounds to his neck, face, and shoulder. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remained in a coma until his death on October 3.
Thomas’ cousin, Brandon Thomas, expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. “Absolute strangers have been reaching out to me with various messages,” he said, adding that it has helped his family navigate this difficult time.
The family has set up a GoFundMe to cover medical and funeral expenses. Funeral arrangements for Tristan Thomas are expected later this month.
