Her family announced her passing through a heartfelt post on Facebook, where her cousin Angelique Rivera shared the sad news. “She fought a long and hard battle. She was strong and held on as long as she could for her babies,” Rivera wrote, along with a series of touching photos.

Despite her health struggles, Erika raised over $1.2 million through a GoFundMe campaign, far surpassing her initial goal of $5,000 to cover funeral expenses and provide for her children. Erika had explained in her campaign that her diagnosis came unexpectedly in May 2022 after what she believed was a simple shoulder injury turned out to be stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout her body.

Erika’s passing has left a deep impact on her loved ones, with her cousin sharing that both of Erika’s children were baptized after her passing, fulfilling one of her final wishes.
