Verstappen Dominates Suzuka for a Hat-Trick of Victories in Japanese Grand Prix
On Sunday, Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, reclaimed his winning form with his third consecutive victory from pole to finish at the Japanese Formula One Grand Prix, finishing ahead of his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez for a first and second place finish at Suzuka.

After experiencing his first withdrawal from a race since 2022 in Melbourne, which halted his nine-race streak of victories, Verstappen faced no mechanical difficulties this time, securing his third victory in the season’s first four races. “That was a very lovely race, the car just got better and better,” Verstappen communicated via the team radio.
Carlos Sainz, who clinched victory in Australia a fortnight ago, utilized newer tires in the race’s later stages to surpass his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc, who had opted for a one-stop strategy, and claim the third spot on the podium. “It was tough out there,” Sainz remarked.
Lando Norris of McLaren concluded the race in fifth place, while Mercedes’ George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished seventh and ninth, respectively.
A collision between Alex Albon of Williams and Daniel Ricciardo’s RB on the first lap led to a red flag and a halt in the race for 30 minutes to clear the track of debris and fix a barrier. Fortunately, both drivers were unharmed.
Yuki Tsunoda of RB earned points at his home grand prix for the first time, finishing in tenth place, much to the joy of the local spectators.
