Rivers admitted his surprise at the game’s minimal free throws, initially mistaking the game’s final stats for those of the first half.
“I thought it was a physical game, and then they handed me the stat sheet, and I told them, ‘No, I need the full game,’” Rivers recounted. “‘Wow, two free throws for a basketball game. That’s crazy.’”
This game broke the previous low of a single free throw attempt, a record held by the Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks. The Bucks also set a record for the fewest fouls in a game with four.
