He has alleged that Sudhir was blackmailing Sonali for a long time by making a video of the rape.

It has also been alleged that Sudhir Sangwan had completely kept Sonali under his control, due to which Sonali could not even talk to her family.

The brother also alleged that Sudhir had started keeping accounts of Sonali’s money and property; Sonali used to sign without reading papers often.

Rinku mentioned in his complaint that Sonali called and told him that she would reach Haryana and complain against Sudhir before death.

After this, he fired all the older people working in Sonali’s place and hired his friend Sukhwinder, and both the people started suppressing Sonali.

Sonali Phogat’s postmortem report

Sonali Phogat’s postmortem report came on August 25. The cause of death could not be ascertained. However, it has been revealed in the report that there were many injury marks on Sonali’s body.

Sonali Phogat’s personal assistant was arrested in Goa; police say “Sudhir Sangwan has confessed the crime.”

The Goa Police on Friday arrested Sudhir Sangwan — the personal assistant of Sonali Phogat, along with Sukhwinder Singh, in connection with the murder case of the Haryana BJP leader and TikTok star.

Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi, while addressing a press conference on Friday, said Sangwan has confessed to the crime.

The police officer said that after reaching Goa, he and Sukhwinder took Sonali Phogat to Curlie’s restaurant in North Goa on the pretext of partying, and he (Sangwan) mixed some obnoxious substance in the drinking water and forced Sonali to drink it.

The police officer said that after reaching Goa, he and Sukhwinder took Sonali Phogat to Curlie’s restaurant in North Goa on the pretext of partying, and he (Sangwan) mixed some obnoxious substance in the drinking water and forced Sonali to drink it.

“After drinking the water, she felt uneasy and sick in the restaurant. Later she was taken by Sangwan and Sukhwinder to the hotel, where they were staying, and then to St Antony’s hospital, Anjuna, where she was declared dead,” he said.

Police said that Rinku Dhaka — son of Sonali Phogat, had alleged in the complaint that Sonali was murdered by her assistant Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh to take over her properties and financial assets and finish her political career.

Bishnoi said that the case would be investigated from all angles.

He said that the Investigating Officer examined CCTV footage of relevant premises and that Sudhir was forcefully making Sonali drink something.

“Since postmortem report has not mentioned the exact cause of death and would be available only after chemical examination of viscera, histopathological and serological reports which would take a while, to avoid the possibility of destruction of evidence and influencing the witnesses, both Sukwinder and Sangwan have been arrested, and further investigation is in progress,” Bishnoi said.

Phogat had come to Goa on August 22 and was staying at a hotel in Anjuna.

After she complained of uneasiness on Monday night, in the morning (on Tuesday), she was taken to St. Anthony hospital in Anjuna at around 8 a.m., where she was declared dead.
