Williams Confident in “Easy Fix” for Alex Albon’s Car After Disqualification at Dutch Grand Prix

Williams Racing addresses Alex Albon’s disqualification from Dutch Grand Prix qualifying due to a floor violation, ensuring a quick fix ahead of the race where Albon will start from the back of the grid.

Bollywood Fever: Williams Racing remains optimistic about their prospects at the Dutch Grand Prix despite a setback that saw Alex Albon disqualified from qualifying due to a floor measurement violation.

The Thai driver, who had impressively qualified in eighth place, will now start Sunday’s race from the back of the grid.

Team boss James Vowles explained that the issue with Albon’s car was limited to a single area of the floor that was not compliant with FIA regulations.

However, Vowles assured that it was an “easy fix” and that the team had already scanned the floor multiple times before and after arriving in Zandvoort.

Despite demonstrating these results to the FIA, the final measurements taken by the governing body determined the car to be out of compliance, a decision Williams accepts.

“We need to understand why our measurements differed from the FIA’s,” Vowles said in a video explanation on Sunday.

Despite the setback, he expressed confidence in the team’s ability to fight through the field, emphasizing that the car remains competitive.

Albon’s teammate, Logan Sargeant, who did not participate in qualifying due to a crash in practice, will start ahead of him in 19th place.

Despite Williams being ninth in the constructors’ standings with just four points from 14 races, Vowles is optimistic about their chances in the race, stating, “I feel we have a strong enough car to be able to fight through the field.”

As the team prepares for the race, the focus will be on making the most of the remaining opportunities to improve their standing and capitalize on the car’s pace.
