Bollywood Fever: Porn star Jesse Jane’s cause of death has been disclosed over six months after she and her boyfriend were discovered unconscious.
The 43-year-old actress, born Cindy Taylor, and her partner, Brett Hasenmueller, were found deceased by authorities in late January during a welfare check at their residence in Moore, Oklahoma.
Police reported that Hasenmueller had been absent from work for several days when they found the couple dead in their home.
It has now been confirmed that Jane and her boyfriend died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl and cocaine. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner for Oklahoma noted that Jane’s body was already decomposing when discovered, according to the Oklahoman.
A comprehensive report is expected on July 17.
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Jane signed with Digital Playground in 2002 and starred in the blockbuster adult films “Pirates” and “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge.” TMZ reported these movies had a production cost of around $8 million, making them some of the most expensive adult films ever made.
This exposure catapulted Jane to fame, featuring her on magazine covers such as FHM, Maxim, and Front. She also made a notable appearance on the TV show “Entourage” with Kevin Connolly and Adrian Grenier.
Later, Jane joined Playboy, contributing to the popular live show “Night Calls” and hosting “Naughty Amateur Home Videos.” Her illustrious career led to her induction into the AVN and XRCO Hall of Fame.
Reflecting on her career in a 2018 interview with GQ, she said, “I got into porn at the perfect time when porn stars mattered. Everybody knew who you were because they actually had to buy your product or DVDs. Porn was so naughty, but everybody watched it.”
Jane was married to fellow porn actor Rick Patrick for seven years until their divorce in 2012. In 2020, she was arrested for allegedly attacking her then-boyfriend during a drunken altercation. Police found her boyfriend with a bloody eye and bite marks, while Jane claimed he had assaulted her.
Jane is survived by one son.
The adult film industry mourned her unexpected death. Actor and director Tommy Gunn, whose real name is Thomas Strada, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, recalling their work together and the end of the “golden days” of the industry.
I’m at a loss for words about the news of Jesse Jane’s passing,” he wrote. “She possessed an energy about herself that was just unmatchable. We worked together numerous times and made some of the biggest movies this business will ever see. Rest in Power, Angel.”
Alana Evans, president of the Adult Performance Artists Guild (APAG), also expressed her sorrow, telling Rolling Stone, “Jesse was a mega star. Even though she quickly became a porn sensation, it didn’t go to her head. She was as sweet as could be.”
Joone, the director of the “Pirates” films, shared on social media, “I am heartbroken by the loss of my friend, Jesse Jane. She touched so many lives with her grace and beauty, her infectious laugh, and a smile that lit up the world.”
Tributes also poured in for Hasenmueller, with friends and loved ones expressing their grief on social media. One friend wrote, “You were not just my friend; you were my brother. Love you, bro, rest in peace until we see each other again.”
Another added, “Brett D. Hasenmueller embodied unwavering support, with a heart of gold that touched everyone. Farewell, Brett, may you rest in peace, a cherished friend.”
This tragic loss has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew and loved Jesse Jane and Brett Hasenmueller.
