Nikki Garcia Files Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband Artem Chigvintsev Following Domestic Violence Arrest
Nikki Garcia, formerly known as Nikki Bella, files a restraining order against estranged husband Artem Chigvintsev after his arrest for alleged domestic violence.
BollywoodFever: Nikki Garcia, formerly known as WWE star Nikki Bella, has filed for and obtained a restraining order against her estranged husband, Artem Chigvintsev, following his August arrest for alleged domestic violence. According to court documents, Garcia detailed how Chigvintsev allegedly attacked her at their Napa Valley home while their 4-year-old son, Matteo, was present.
Garcia, 40, claims that Chigvintsev, 42, tackled and pinned her to the ground during the altercation. She also alleges that the professional dancer’s behavior became increasingly volatile after he was cut from Dancing With the Stars. According to Garcia, the incident escalated over a disagreement about how Matteo’s English muffin was toasted, leading to Chigvintsev allegedly yelling and becoming physically aggressive.
Garcia threw Matteo’s shoes toward Chigvintsev during the argument, which she says lightly hit his leg but did not cause harm. Chigvintsev allegedly grabbed their son and ran upstairs, prompting Garcia to follow. She claims he then tackled her again, restraining her for nearly 30 seconds.
Their son, Matteo, reportedly told police, “Daddy hurt my hand,” and Garcia also mentioned a previous incident in mid-2023 where Chigvintsev allegedly grabbed her violently.
Chigvintsev is currently prohibited from contacting Garcia and Matteo, except for court-ordered child visitation. Garcia has requested full custody of Matteo and asked to take him to London for an upcoming project, though the judge denied the travel request until a full hearing later this month.
Despite the seriousness of the charges, the domestic violence charge against Chigvintsev was dropped after a thorough investigation due to insufficient evidence. Sources close to the couple claim their relationship has always been volatile, dating back to when they met on DWTS in 2017.
