North Korea Says Japan’s Prime Minister Suggested Meeting with Kim Jong Un
Bollywoodfever, March, 25: North Korea has announced that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has extended an invitation for a summit with the North’s leader, Kim Jong Un.
This information was disclosed by Kim Jong Un’s sister and prominent official, Kim Yo Jong, in a statement released by state media on Monday.
Kim Yo Jong revealed that Kishida communicated his desire for an early meeting with Kim Jong Un through an unspecified intermediary.
She emphasized that the possibility of enhancing relations between the two countries depends on Japan’s actions.
Kim Yo Jong cautioned that if Kishida continues to emphasize the resolution of the controversial issue of North Korea’s alleged abduction of Japanese citizens in the past, he might face criticism for seeking dialogue merely to improve his own political standing.
