Two weeks following Rebel Wilson’s disclosure in her memoir “Rebel Rising” that she addresses Sacha Baron Cohen’s behavior, the 52-year-old comedian and his wife, Isla Fisher, have announced their separation. The couple shared in a statement released on Friday, April 5, that they had parted ways the previous year.

“After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,” Sacha and Isla expressed in a joint statement on Instagram Stories. They emphasized their longstanding commitment to privacy and their continuous, quiet navigation through their separation. They reaffirmed their united love and dedication to their children and requested privacy for their family during this time.

This announcement arrived shortly after Rebel, 44, disclosed in her memoir that Sacha was the “a**hole” she accuses of behaving inappropriately on the set of their movie, “Grimsby.”

In a now-removed Instagram video, the “Pitch Perfect” star revealed, “I wrote about an a**hole in my book. Now, said a**hole is trying to threaten me,” explaining that he had enlisted crisis PR management and legal counsel in an attempt to suppress information about her book. Despite these challenges, Rebel assured her audience that her book would be published, promising that the truth would be revealed.
