Bollywood Fever: If Kamala Harris defeats Donald Trump in the upcoming November election, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has a playful plan in mind—he’s going to borrow a page from Steph Curry’s playbook and send Trump a “Night, night!” message.
Kerr made this tongue-in-cheek vow on Monday evening during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, a city where he once helped Michael Jordan and the Bulls secure multiple NBA Championships.
Taking the stage for nearly 10 minutes, Kerr expressed his admiration for Harris and her vice-presidential pick, Tim Walz. He praised their leadership abilities, highlighting Walz’s past coaching success on high school football fields. “Coach to coach,” Kerr remarked, “that guy’s awesome.”
As Kerr wrapped up his speech, he channeled Curry, performing the same “Night, night!” celebration that Curry famously used after helping Team USA secure gold in men’s basketball at the recent Olympics. “In the words of the great Steph Curry,” Kerr said while mimicking a pillow with his hands, “we can tell Donald Trump, ‘Night, night!'”
The crowd responded with a standing ovation, clearly enjoying the moment.
Kerr’s disdain for Trump is well-documented, as the coach has frequently used his platform to criticize the former president. During Trump’s time in office, Kerr’s Warriors famously declined to visit the White House after their championship victories.
Steph Curry has also made his support for Kamala Harris clear, so if Harris wins the election, expect plenty of “Night, night” wishes to be sent Trump’s way from Northern California.
