Woman Killed in Southwest Las Vegas Shooting Following Domestic Dispute
A woman in her 30s was fatally shot during a domestic altercation at a Southwest Las Vegas apartment complex. The suspect, believed to be her boyfriend, is in police custody.
Las Vegas, Bollywood Fever: A woman is dead following a shooting that police believe began as a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend at an apartment complex in the southwest Las Vegas valley.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at an apartment complex located in the 4300 block of South Jones Boulevard near Flamingo Road. Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about a shooting just after 4 p.m.
According to police, the suspect called 911, stating he had shot his girlfriend during an altercation inside the apartment. The 911 dispatch operator provided the suspect with medical advice on treating the woman’s wounds.
Upon arrival, officers took the suspect, a man in his 30s, into custody. They found the woman, also in her 30s, on an upstairs landing and treated her for multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Police informed 8 News Now that they were still investigating the circumstances leading up to the dispute but believed the shooting was part of a domestic altercation. They noted the couple had a history of prior disputes.
