Florida Teacher Arrested After Alleged Sexual Relationship With Student Inside School Classroom

Florida teacher Brooke Anderson, 27, faces charges after allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a male student, with the latest incident occurring in her classroom the morning of her arrest.

Police arrived just moments after a Florida high school teacher allegedly sexually assaulted a student inside her classroom.

Brooke Anderson, 27, who taught biology at Riverview High School, was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest followed a tip-off earlier that day about a possible inappropriate relationship between Anderson and a male student.

The student told investigators that the relationship began back in September 2024 and initially involved the two exchanging “sexually explicit text messages.” He claimed things escalated over time and described several instances of alleged sexual activity—most recently the morning of her arrest, reportedly inside her classroom before school even started.

Sheriff Chad Chronister didn’t hold back in his statement: “This teacher betrayed the trust of a student, a school, and an entire community. What should have been a safe, supportive environment for learning was exploited for abuse. Her actions are criminal, calculated, and deeply disturbing.”

Anderson had been working in the Hillsborough County Public Schools district since November 2021. She was listed on the Riverview High School website as a science teacher and also served as the environmental club sponsor. Her name has since been removed from the school’s staff directory.

The school district confirmed she passed all mandatory background checks before being hired but noted she’s now suspended and on track for termination.

After her arrest, Anderson was booked into jail but released on Saturday after a judge set bail at $45,000—$15,000 for each charge.

At this time, court records show Anderson hasn’t entered a plea, and it’s not clear whether she has secured legal representation.

The Sheriff’s Office says the case is still under investigation and is encouraging anyone who may have additional information—or believes they were also a victim—to come forward.

This case adds to growing concern over misconduct involving educators. In an unrelated incident, another teacher, Natalia Elizabeth Wright, 31, from Mississippi, was accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with a student in a Taco Bell parking lot. According to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Wright allegedly committed acts of “licentious sexual desires” with a minor.

Both cases are sparking serious conversations about trust, safety, and oversight in schools across the country.
