Actress Pranit Hatte Faces Discrimination: Hotel Cancels Room Booking Due to Gender Identity
Actress Pranit Hatte, known for her role as Ganga in the Marathi serial Karbhari Laybhari, has built a significant fan following for her credible acting skills. She often shares glimpses of her personal and professional life on her official social media handles. In a recent video, Hatte recounted a shocking experience she had while visiting Nashik for an event, which occurred on May 9th.
Taking to Instagram, Pranit shared a video detailing her experience. She revealed that a hotel in Nashik canceled her room booking upon discovering that she is a transgender woman. She had arrived in Nashik on May 9th to attend an event, having booked a room at Hotel Pooja International for the same. However, the booking was later canceled after they learned of her transgender identity. Her fans were outraged after hearing about her ordeal.
After criticizing the staff for their disrespectful behavior, Pranit expressed her frustration, asking, “Where the f*ck should we go? I am clueless. I need your help, please tell me what I should do now.” Hatte captioned the video, “Rooms got rejected because of the GENDER……..disgusting.”
Her fans quickly flooded the comments section of the video to condemn the hotel staff. One wrote, “Violation of Transgender Act 2019 (Protection of Transgender).” Another commented, “Just called up and confronted the Hotel. They must be ashamed of themselves for sure now. Thanks for sharing the sad incident.” Others suggested seeking help from the nearest police station or media channels.
In addition to her role as Ganga in Karbhari Laybhari, Pranit Hatte has also appeared in the film Haddi alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
