Angel Reese Breaks Rookie Rebounding Record, Eyes All-Time WNBA Mark
Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese surpasses Aliyah Boston for the second-most rebounds by a rookie in WNBA history. The rookie forward now sets her sights on the all-time record held by Tina Charles.
Bollywood Fever: Angel Reese has swiftly made a name for herself in the WNBA, establishing herself as one of the league’s most talented players and dominant rebounders in her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.
The 6-foot-3 forward recently etched her name in the record books by surpassing Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston for the second-most rebounds by a rookie in WNBA history.
Reese achieved this milestone during the Sky’s game against the Connecticut Sun on Friday, securing her 336th rebound of the season early in the second quarter.

This feat allowed her to surpass Boston, who set the previous record during her 2023 Rookie of the Year campaign, where she averaged 14.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
With ample time left in the game and the season, Reese is now setting her sights on the all-time rookie rebounding record held by Atlanta Dream center Tina Charles.
Charles hauled in 398 rebounds during her 2010 season with the Connecticut Sun, a mark that has stood unchallenged for over a decade.
Reese’s impact on the Chicago Sky has been nothing short of remarkable. She’s currently averaging 13.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, leading the Sky and all rookies in rebounding.

Her consistent performance on the boards has also earned her another spot in the record books, as she secured the most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history earlier in the season with 15 straight, surpassing the previous record held by league legend Candace Parker.
As the season progresses, Angel Reese has plenty of opportunities to continue extending her rebounding streak and possibly become the WNBA’s all-time rookie rebounding leader. Her outstanding debut season has not only propelled the Chicago Sky but also set the stage for what promises to be an illustrious career in the league.
