Bikini-Clad Barista Smashes Car Windshield in Dispute Over Coffee Order
A bikini-clad barista in South Seattle smashes a man’s car windshield during a dispute over a $33 coffee order, receiving both praise and criticism online.
Washington, Bollywood Fever: A bikini-clad barista, Emma Lee, 23, smashed a man’s car windshield with a hammer during a heated argument over a $33 coffee order, and her online admirers are cheering her on.
The incident occurred at A Taste of Heaven Espresso, a drive-through coffee shop in South Seattle, Washington. Surveillance video captured Lee pulling out a hammer after the customer threw iced coffee at her and allegedly threatened her.
Lee recounted to a local news outlet that the confrontation escalated when the customer exited his vehicle, approached the drive-through window, and threw the coffee at her while making a threatening comment: “Nobody is going to miss you.”
“It was a threat after screaming, spitting, and trying to pry open the window,” Lee told FOX 13. “I felt in danger.”
The customer had ordered a 32-ounce coffee and a 24-ounce water, totaling about $22. Lee noted that he was a repeat customer who had previously complained about the high prices. “No one is forcing you to come here,” she reportedly told him. She insisted that the prices were clearly listed, countering any claims of being scammed.
Lee called the police and filed misdemeanor assault charges against the customer. However, the man might pursue her in small claims court for the cost of his windshield.
Lee expressed confidence in her actions, asserting that she should not be treated differently because she serves coffee while wearing skimpy swimwear. “Why should this kind of interaction be expected because of the environment? It’s disgusting,” she stated. “It’s okay for him to be outraged, but it’s not appropriate for me to respond?”
On Instagram, Lee shared surveillance footage of the altercation. Many viewers supported her actions, with comments applauding her for standing up for herself and others in similar situations.
“I showed this to my kids! If we react like this, fewer men would think it was OK to talk to us like this,” one supporter commented. “He would never have done it to a man. What did you do to deserve that? What did any of us do? YOU EXISTED. You’re a goddamn national treasure.”
“The hammer to the windshield was extremely satisfying!!” another admirer cheered. “I’m so glad you stood up for not only yourself but all of us girlies in the industry!! We deal with this on a daily basis! Hopefully, others will learn from this interaction.”
However, not everyone agreed with Lee’s actions. “So you then commit a felony and aggravated assault him… not a good look sweet pea,” one critic remarked. “I hope you mend your relationship with your father.”
