Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency, warning residents to stay safe as flash floods continue.

“We want everyone to be careful,” Beshear said in a statement. “The rain will make driving dangerous, and flash flooding can be deadly. Don’t drive through standing water—it may have a strong current and is incredibly dangerous.”

Parts of Kentucky could see 5 to 8 inches of rain in the coming days, according to Fox Weather.
