Gerard Depardieu Faces Questioning Over Sexual Assault Allegations in Paris
Gerard Depardieu is in police custody in Paris for questioning regarding allegations of sexual assault. His lawyer confirmed that the 75-year-old actor voluntarily presented himself at a Paris police station on Monday. Depardieu is facing allegations from two women, relating to incidents that allegedly occurred on film sets in 2021 and 2014.
Depardieu is already the subject of a rape complaint dating back to 2018, filed by actress Charlotte Arnould. This case remains open.
In April 2023, a report published by French investigative news website Médiapart detailed accusations from 13 women of sexually inappropriate behavior against Depardieu. In response, he wrote a letter in Le Figaro denying all the accusations, stating, “Never ever have I abused a woman.”
