Grifols Welcomes Nacho Abia as New CEO to the Board

Bollywoodfever, February 27: Spanish pharmaceutical company Grifols (GRLS.MC) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Nacho Abia as a board member, following his recent hiring as Chief Executive on February 5th.

This decision comes as part of the company’s recent corporate governance changes, which were implemented earlier this month.

Grifols Welcomes Nacho Abia as New CEO to the Board

These changes were made in response to concerns raised by short-seller Gotham City, who issued a report questioning the company’s accounting practices, leading to a sell-off in its shares.

Abia, a former top executive at Tokyo-based medical firm Olympus (7733.T), is set to assume his new role on April 1st. Meanwhile, Thomas Glanzmann, the current CEO and executive chairman, will transition to the role of chairman.

In addition to Abia’s appointment, the company announced that Raimon Grifols and Victor Grifols, who serve as Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Operating Officer respectively, will voluntarily step down from their positions. However, both individuals will remain as board members.
