The Israeli military has recovered the bodies of six hostages taken by Hamas during the Oct. 7 attack, as international efforts to mediate a cease-fire continue.
Bollywood Fever: The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it has recovered the bodies of six hostages taken during Hamas’ October 7 attack, which ignited the ongoing Gaza conflict. The bodies were recovered in an overnight operation in southern Gaza, according to a military statement.
The hostages were identified as Yagev Buchshtab, Alexander Dancyg, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger, Nadav Popplewell, and Haim Perry. The military did not disclose details on when or how they died.
This recovery operation comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar to mediate a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Such an agreement could potentially lead to the release of numerous hostages still being held by the militant group.
Hamas is believed to be holding around 110 hostages who were captured during the October 7 attack. Israeli authorities estimate that approximately one-third of these hostages are deceased.
