At the age of 60, Lance Reddick, a well-known actor renowned for his portrayal of a police commander on the Baltimore crime drama “The Wire” and notable roles in the “John Wick” film series and the Amazon series “Bosch,” passed away on Friday. His publicist, Mia Hansen, confirmed the news of his death, but did not disclose where he passed away or the cause.
In 1996, Mr. Reddick began his acting career on the stage and went on to secure minor roles in television series such as “New York Undercover” and “The West Wing,” as well as TV movies. Despite his relatively small roles, he often played law enforcement figures. However, his breakthrough came in 2002 when he was cast as Lt. Cedric Daniels, the head of the investigation unit with unwavering principles, in “The Wire,” an HBO series that was praised for its realistic portrayal of policing, crime, education, and other aspects of life in Baltimore.
