Teen Falls Into Rajasthan Well: Over 50-Hour Operation to Retrieve Body Continues
An extensive operation to recover the body of a 13-year-old boy who fell into a 70-foot deep well in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district has been ongoing for more than 50 hours, authorities reported on Sunday.
State Disaster Response Force Leads Rescue Efforts
A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been tirelessly working to pump out the water from the well to facilitate the operation. Despite their efforts, the continuous inflow of water poses a significant challenge.
Tragic Incident in Palra Village
Lalit Singh, a resident of Palra village, fell into the well on Friday afternoon while grazing goats in the nearby Kanavas Chapri village. His companions immediately informed his maternal grandfather, Ganesh Singh, who then alerted the police.
Operation Hampered by Water Inflow
“The boy had fallen into the well and died. The SDRF team is carrying out an operation to trace the body. The biggest trouble is the continuous water flow into the well,” said Dewair SHO Bhawani Shankar. He noted that the operation has been ongoing since Friday afternoon.
Additional Support from Civil Defence
To assist in the complex operation, the police called in a six-member team from the Civil Defence unit in Rajsamand due to the depth of the water in the well.
Continuous Efforts and Challenges
The continuous water flow into the well remains the primary obstacle in retrieving the boy’s body, despite the relentless efforts of the rescue teams. The operation’s duration underscores the difficulty and urgency of the situation.
