Actor Ranveer Singh surprised his fans on Tuesday by clearing his Instagram feed of all old pictures, including those with his actor wife Deepika Padukone. The couple, who are expecting a baby, are currently enjoying a vacation together.
Ranveer seems to have either deleted or archived all his previous posts, with the first post now dating back to January 2023. Consequently, their wedding pictures have also disappeared from his profile, although recent pictures such as anniversary and Diwali celebrations are still present. Currently, Ranveer’s profile features only 133 posts.
This move on Instagram is likely a social media strategy for the couple. Deepika Padukone had previously done something similar, wiping her entire profile clean with zero posts on December 31, 2020, and launching an audio diary. Although no wedding pictures were displayed on her profile either, she later unarchived them, leaving only those pictures on her grid while everything else was removed. Ranveer’s Instagram activity coincided with pictures surfacing of him and Deepika from their “babymoon trip,” where she was seen with a baby bump.
In February of this year, the couple announced they were expecting their first child, with their baby due in September 2024. Since then, they have only made public appearances together at the grand Ambani wedding.
On the work front, Deepika is eagerly anticipating the release of two films this year: Prabhas-led Kalki 2898 AD and a special appearance in Singham Again, where she will portray a cop alongside Ranveer, who is already a part of the cop universe as Simmba. Ranveer, on the other hand, is set to begin a new film this year, directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri The Surgical Strike fame.
