Bollywood Fever, March 19: Two former collegiate hockey standouts were tragically killed in their Florida apartment in a murder-suicide carried out by one of the women’s boyfriend, who subsequently took his own life.

The incident, investigated by Miami-Dade Police, unfolded when 40-year-old Luis Napoles fatally shot his girlfriend, 25-year-old Meghan Moore, outside their residence. He then proceeded to shoot her roommate, 23-year-old Sidney Capolino, inside their home on Saturday evening.

Authorities were called to the Windsor Ludlam Trail Apartments around 9 p.m., where they discovered Meghan with a gunshot injury outside the building. While attending to her, another shot was heard from within the apartment, prompting an evacuation and a SWAT team intervention. Inside, they found Sidney deceased from a gunshot and Napoles dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound.

The police confirmed that all three individuals lived together in the apartment, with Napoles in a relationship with Meghan and Sidney being her roommate. The motive behind the murder-suicide has not been disclosed.

Meghan and Sidney were celebrated athletes on the New England College women’s ice hockey team. Meghan hailed from Centerville, Massachusetts, and Sidney from Pawling, New York, as stated in their athletic profiles.

New England College President Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., expressed the institution’s profound sorrow over the loss, highlighting the deep impact Meghan and Sidney had on the campus community. He extended thoughts and prayers to their families and friends during this challenging period.

The college noted Sidney’s graduation in 2022 and Meghan’s in 2021, emphasizing the importance of community support and offering counseling services to those affected by the tragedy.

Tributes poured in for the two, including a heartfelt post from a college hockey coach, who remembered Meghan and Sidney as remarkable individuals whose lives were cut tragically short. She shared her grief over their loss, bidding them rest in peace.
