Travala Integrates 2.2M Hotels into Skyscanner, Enabling Crypto Payments for Travel Bookings
Travala integrates its inventory into Skyscanner, allowing users to book 2.2 million hotels with over 100 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and ether.
Bollywood Fever: Travala, a blockchain-based travel booking platform, has integrated its inventory of more than 2.2 million hotels across 230 countries into the global travel marketplace, Skyscanner. This partnership makes these accommodations bookable using over 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, Binance Coin (BNB), and Travala’s native token, AVA.
As the first crypto-native platform integrated into Skyscanner, Travala now stands alongside major travel agencies like Expedia, Booking.com, and Agoda. This integration grants access to Skyscanner’s extensive audience of 110 million monthly users, who perform an astounding 80 billion daily searches.
Sanja Vukik, Skyscanner’s Head of Hotels, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating,
“This collaboration with Travala underscores our commitment to offering diverse, cutting-edge solutions that cater to the evolving needs of travelers. By integrating Skyscanner’s market-leading search capabilities with Travala’s crypto-native platform, we’re making travel planning more accessible and flexible for the growing number of travelers who prefer alternative payment methods.”
Travala anticipates increased traffic from this integration, promoting the benefits of booking travel with digital assets. CEO Juan Otero emphasized the importance of visibility in advancing crypto adoption.
“Visibility is a crucial component of mass crypto adoption. By displaying Travala on one of the world’s most popular travel marketplaces in Skyscanner, we’re demonstrating the utility of crypto and showcasing it as an available option from the moment travelers make their very first search,” Otero said.

Travala’s Blockchain Journey
Travala aims to provide a decentralized and transparent travel booking experience by leveraging blockchain technology. The platform enables users to book flights, hotels, and accommodations with various cryptocurrencies, enhancing flexibility for crypto enthusiasts.
Founded in 2017 on the Neo blockchain, Travala later migrated to BNB Chain in 2020. This move allowed the platform to benefit from improved scalability, lower transaction fees, and greater adoption. Travala’s native token, AVA, is now available on both BNB Chain and Ethereum, expanding its reach within the cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems.
With the integration, Skyscanner users selecting a hotel from Travala’s inventory are redirected to Travala’s site to complete their booking. Customers also benefit from the AVA Smart Program, which offers incentives like discounts and up to 10% cashback in Bitcoin and other Web3 travel rewards.
