Apple Reveals New MacBook Air Models with M3 Chip: Enhanced Performance and Features
Bollywoodfever, March 4: Apple has introduced its latest update to the MacBook Air lineup, featuring the advanced M3 chip, promising up to 60% faster performance compared to the M1 models.
The tech giant announced the new 13 and 15-inch MacBook Air models, available in Space Gray and Silver.
Customers can start pre ordering today, with the official release scheduled for Friday, March 8.
The starting price for the 13-inch version is set at $1,099, and the 15-inch model begins at $1,299.
Additionally, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air remains available at a reduced price of $999, down $100 from its original launch price nearly two years ago.
The upgraded MacBook Air models boast several key features, including a Liquid Retina display, Wi-Fi 6E support, 8GB of RAM, MagSafe charging, a Magic Keyboard with a full-height function row and Touch ID, along with two Thunderbolt ports.
A notable first for the MacBook Air series with the M3 models is the capability to support up to two external displays, requiring the laptop‘s lid to be closed during use.
Highlighting the integration of a 16-core Neural Engine, Apple emphasizes the M3 MacBook Air’s optimization for running generative AI applications directly, including summarizing content and generating images through large language models (LLMs) and diffusion models.
This move aligns with Apple’s increasing focus on artificial intelligence, underscored by CEO Tim Cook’s recent announcement of forthcoming generative AI features for consumers later this year.
