Australian PM to Attend Private Katy Perry Performance Following Taylor Swift’s Concert for 80,000 Fans

Australia, BollywoodFever, February 23: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to attend an exclusive private performance by Katy Perry at the opulent Melbourne residence of billionaire Anthony Pratt. 

The event, hosting around 200 of the country’s most influential corporate leaders and political figures, is being held in recognition of the food and beverage industry, which Pratt’s packaging company, Visy, is deeply involved with.

Originally scheduled to include outgoing Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci, recent public scrutiny led to his withdrawal from the event. 

Albanese, however, has confirmed his attendance and is expected to utilize his time in Melbourne to engage in campaigning for the upcoming March 2 byelection in the Dunkley electorate.

While the Prime Minister’s office initially remained silent on his participation in the function, reports from 2GB’s Ben Fordham confirmed his invitation. 

A spokesperson for Albanese later clarified that he would be attending the annual food and beverage manufacturing dinner.

This event is anticipated to be attended by various prominent figures, including Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, US Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, and leaders from major corporations such as Wesfarmers and Lion Nathan.

Katy Perry’s performance, for which Pratt reportedly paid around $1.5 million, is exclusive to this private gathering, as she is not holding any public performances during her time in Australia.

Pratt, known for leveraging his wealth to cultivate relationships with influential individuals, has previously hosted similar events attended by high-profile figures, including former Prime Ministers Scott Morrison and Tony Abbott. 

These gatherings, while not involving any direct fees or donations to political parties by attendees, typically coincide with personal donations made by Pratt to political causes.

Pratt’s ability to wield his wealth for political influence has been the subject of scrutiny, particularly following revelations of his involvement in political donations and engagements with senior political figures.

Despite controversies surrounding his political influence, Pratt continues to maintain a significant presence in Australian politics, utilizing his resources to foster connections and influence within the country’s political landscape.
