Caitlyn Jenner Criticizes Biden Over Easter and Transgender Day of Visibility Coincidence
BollywoodFever, March 31: Caitlyn Jenner has openly criticized President Biden, suggesting a deliberate overlap of a significant Christian celebration with International Transgender Day of Visibility.
Expressing her views on social media the day before the Transgender Day of Visibility, which coincidentally aligns with Easter this year, Jenner accused Biden of intentionally scheduling these events to coincide.
In her statement, Jenner expressed her outrage, stating, “I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days – a self proclaimed devout Catholic – as Transgender Day of Visibility. The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen’.”
Despite Jenner being a transgender individual herself, her frustration is palpable. It’s important to note, however, that Biden is not the originator of this scheduling.
The Transgender Day of Visibility has been observed since 2009, initiated during Barack Obama’s presidency. The recent focus from conservatives, including Jenner, seems to be triggered by a recent White House proclamation that many interpret as Biden’s personal endorsement.
The proclamation issued by Biden states, “NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.” It encourages Americans to support the transgender community and advocate against violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
While the Biden administration did not create the Transgender Day of Visibility, its recent acknowledgment of the day has sparked controversy, especially as it coincides with Easter in 2024. This debate emerges amidst heightened tensions surrounding transgender issues in the White House, signaling a politically charged year ahead.
