Media Platform X Shuts Down Operations in Brazil Amid Censorship Dispute
Media platform X announces the immediate closure of its operations in Brazil, citing “censorship orders” from Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes and alleged threats against its legal representatives.
Bollywood Fever: Media platform X announced on Saturday that it will be closing its operations in Brazil “effective immediately” due to what it described as “censorship orders” issued by Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes.
The platform, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, claims that Moraes secretly threatened one of its legal representatives in Brazil with arrest if the company did not comply with legal orders to remove certain content.

Despite the closure of its operations, the X service will remain accessible to users in Brazil, according to the platform’s statement.
Brazil’s Supreme Court, where Moraes serves as a judge, has not yet responded to the allegations or to requests for comment.
This move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between the social media platform and Brazilian authorities, highlighting broader concerns about censorship and freedom of expression in the country.
