Billy Ray Cyrus Defends Himself Amid Heated Divorce Battle with Firerose
Bollywood Fever: Billy Ray Cyrus is standing firm on the comments he made in leaked audio from a heated argument with his estranged wife, Firerose. The 62-year-old musician took to Instagram to explain his frustrations, stating, “Hell yeah, I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud.”
Cyrus shared his side of the story alongside a photo of a rose surrounded by a border of fire, claiming that he discovered troubling information about Firerose, including a past arrest for felony residential burglary and her alleged attempts to take over his career and the Cyrus family name. “I saw before my very own eyes, everything I thought I knew about her, was a lie,” he added. Cyrus concluded his post with a message to Firerose, “See you in court.“
Us Weekly obtained audio of Cyrus and Firerose, 37, arguing about the timing of a performance. The heated exchange included Cyrus shouting and using explicit language, expressing his frustration and accusing Firerose of not listening. In the audio, Cyrus also referred to Firerose as a “selfish bitch” and questioned her intelligence.
The audio revealed further tension between Cyrus and his ex-wife Tish, with derogatory comments suggesting ongoing animosity. Tish and Cyrus share several children, including Miley Cyrus, Braison, and Noah, and Cyrus also adopted Tish’s eldest two children from a previous relationship.
Cyrus’s attorneys addressed the leaked audio in a statement to Us Weekly, asserting that Firerose recorded the conversation without his knowledge and was on her best behavior for the recording. They accused Firerose of trying to harm Cyrus’s career by making the recording public and litigating the case in the press.
Cyrus filed for an annulment of his marriage to Firerose last month, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct.” The couple’s separation date was listed as May 22, 2024, just seven months after their wedding. The divorce proceedings have been fraught with accusations from both sides, including claims of cheating, abuse, and financial misconduct.
Cyrus has accused Firerose of blocking his contact with one of his daughters and verbally, emotionally, and physically abusing him. Firerose, in turn, has accused Cyrus of domestic abuse and imposing strict rules in their relationship. Earlier this month, a Tennessee judge granted Cyrus’s request to block Firerose from accessing his credit cards after she allegedly spent $96,000 of his money during their divorce.
The legal battle between Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose continues to unfold, with both parties preparing to present their cases in court. The contentious nature of their split suggests a prolonged and public dispute.
