An 8-year-old British boy sustained severe brain trauma after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Ibiza while reaching for a towel. The incident is being treated as an accident.
A young British boy is in intensive care after a terrifying fall from a hotel balcony in Ibiza, which happened as he tried to grab a towel.
The 8-year-old reportedly lost his balance while reaching for the towel hanging over the edge of his third-floor balcony at the Aparthotel Vibra Bay in San Antonio.
The accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the child was staying at the hotel with his grandmother.
According to local news reports, emergency services quickly launched a trauma alert to prepare the nearest hospital for his arrival. Police have confirmed the incident is being treated as an accident.

The boy was initially taken to the private Clinica Nuestra Señora del Rosario, where he underwent an emergency operation.
Doctors there diagnosed him with a traumatic brain injury, skull fracture, subdural hematoma, cerebral edema, a broken jaw, and chest trauma.
Due to a shortage of pediatric ICU beds on the island, he was airlifted to Majorca’s Son Espases Hospital, where he remains in intensive care. Hospital officials are expected to provide an update on his condition soon.
In a show of urgency, the Civil Guard issued a green alert to help clear traffic and ensure the ambulance could make it to the hospital as quickly as possible.
The tragic incident comes amid a series of accidents involving British and Irish holidaymakers in Spain in recent days.

Just hours before the boy’s fall, a 24-year-old British tourist was critically injured after plummeting from his hotel in Puerto Banus near Marbella.
He reportedly fell the equivalent of three stories from a first-floor room at the Hard Rock Hotel due to the street’s slope and was rushed to Malaga’s Regional University Hospital with serious injuries, including multiple broken bones.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, two Irish men were injured in a buggy crash at the Santa Clara Golf course near Marbella. One of the men had to be airlifted to the hospital after the vehicle broke through a barrier near the 18th tee and dropped nearly 23 feet.
As investigations continue, these incidents serve as a grim reminder of how quickly holiday fun can turn into tragedy.
