Govinda has stated that he came up with the idea of the movie to David Dhawan and wanted to play the role that would then be offered to Rishi Kapoor. He wanted at least a guest appearance which he wasn’t given either. This has caused a rift between Govinda and David Dhawan and may never work with each other again.
The song Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai was inspired from the Airtel advertisement Har Ek Friend Zaroori Hota Hai .
