Clara Amfo Signs with Curtis Brown Group, Leaving Simon Cowell’s YMU

British broadcaster, TV presenter, and podcast host Clara Amfo has signed with the Curtis Brown Group.

Amfo is among several high-profile talents who have recently left Simon Cowell’s agency YMU. Curtis Brown, owned by UTA, will represent her in all areas.

She will be represented within the new unscripted entertainment division helmed by former YMU agent Martha Atack, which launched earlier this year. Curtis Brown Group Unscripted and Entertainment’s roster includes Bradley Walsh, Richard E Grant, Sue Perkins, Zoe Ball, Carol Vorderman, Cat Deeley, London Hughes, Lenny Rush, Grayson Perry, Stacey Dooley, Asim Chaudhry, Layton Williams, and Mae Martin.

Amfo is a household name on British radio and TV. She hosts several shows on BBC Radio 1 and has interviewed prominent artists such as Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Elton John. She also fronts the BAFTA TV red carpet, BBC’s Glastonbury coverage, ITV music show Studio Sessions, and has hosted podcasts on the history of fashion.

She is one of several UK TV stars to have exited YMU over the summer months.

Deadline revealed this morning that Munya Chawawa, Angela Scanlon, Robert Rinder, and Amelia Dimoldenberg have also moved, with a number of senior agents departing.
