Disney+ to stream the UEFA Women’s Champions League live across Europe in a five-year deal starting October 2024, marking a major move into women’s football.
Disney+ is stepping onto the pitch in a big way — the streaming giant just landed a five-year deal to show the UEFA Women’s Champions League live across Europe.
Starting this October, Disney+ will be the go-to destination for fans wanting to catch the action from Europe’s top women’s football clubs. The deal runs through to 2030 and was announced right before the final match of the 2024/25 season between Arsenal and Barcelona, taking place at Portugal’s Estádio José Alvalade this Saturday.
Disney+ isn’t just streaming the games — they’ll be producing every single match live, with commentary available in multiple languages. Fans can also expect plenty of extra content like pre-match buildup and post-game breakdowns.
Karl Holmes, general manager of Disney+ EMEA, shared his excitement:
“The UEFA Women’s Champions League is the very best in football performance, dedication, and passion. Bringing this incredible tournament to Disney+ customers and audiences speaks to our commitment to delivering a huge range of bold and dynamic entertainment.
This move is yet another sign that women’s football is gaining serious momentum in the streaming world. Back in December, Netflix snapped up the U.S. streaming rights for the FIFA Women’s World Cup — and now, Disney+ is making its own major play in Europe.
Get ready for top-tier women’s football, now just a stream away.
