High Court Issues Temporary Suspension of Telegram Services in Spain
Bollywoodfever, March, 23: Following complaints from media organizations alleging unauthorized content sharing, Spain’s High Court has decreed a halt on the operations of the messaging application Telegram within the nation, a judicial informant revealed.
This suspension, set to commence on Monday, comes at the behest of several media corporations, including Atresmedia, EGEDA, Mediaset, and Telefonica.

The decision by Judge Santiago Pedraz to temporarily suspend Telegram’s services in Spain forms part of an ongoing investigation into these claims.
Mobile network operators in the country will be tasked with enforcing the service blockade, according to the court source.
Telegram has yet to issue a statement in response to these developments, and attempts to contact a spokesperson for the High Court for comments have so far remained unanswered.
Notably, Telegram ranks as the fourth most popular messaging platform in Spain, as per data from the national competition authority, CNMC, being a choice for nearly 19% of the Spanish population surveyed. Globally, Telegram reported having over 700 million active users on a monthly basis in the year 2023.
