Jennifer Garner in Negotiations for Lead Role in Ben Affleck’s Crime Thriller ‘Animals’
Jennifer Garner is in talks to join Ben Affleck in his upcoming film venture.
The actress Jennifer Garner, who was previously married to the Academy Award-winning filmmaker for 13 years, is currently negotiating to star alongside Matt Damon in “Animals,” a crime thriller in development at Netflix.
Affleck is set to direct the project, also serving as a producer alongside Damon through their Artists Equity production banner, along with Dani Bernfeld. Brad Weston and Collin Creighton are also attached as producers through MakeReady.

While details are still being finalized, including Garner’s deal, if everything falls into place, filming for the thriller could commence in Los Angeles as early as March.
Penned by Connor McIntyre with revisions by Billy Ray, “Animals” revolves around a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is kidnapped. Faced with numerous adversaries, both political and otherwise, the couple must take matters into their own hands to rescue their child.
Garner is slated to portray the wife opposite Damon as the candidate.
With her wide-ranging roles in various genres, Garner has become a favorite on Netflix, having appeared in successful projects like “Family Switch,” “The Adam Project,” and “Yes Day.”
Garner and Affleck have previously shared the screen in three films, all made before their marriage in 2005: “Pearl Harbor” (2001), “Daredevil” (2003), and its spinoff “Elektra” (2005). However, she has not yet been directed by him.
Affleck and Garner finalized their divorce in 2018.
