Jennifer Leak Passes Away at 76: Remembering the ‘Yours, Mine and Ours’ Star and Veteran of ‘The Guiding Light’, ‘The Young and the Restless’, and ‘Another World’

BollywoodFever, March 29: Jennifer Leak, renowned for her role alongside Tim Matheson in the 1968 film “Yours, Mine and Ours” and as his first wife, has passed away at the age of 76. She died on March 18 at her residence in Jupiter, Florida, after battling progressive supranuclear palsy, a rare neurological disorder, in her later years.

Matheson paid homage to Leak on Facebook, expressing his sorrow:

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Jennifer Leak’s passing. She wasn’t just my screen sister in ‘Yours, Mine and Ours,’ but also my beloved first wife. Jennifer was a remarkable woman, strong, lovely, and incredibly talented. My deepest condolences go out to her husband of 47 years, James D’Auria, and their multitude of friends.”

In “Yours, Mine and Ours,” Leak played Colleen, the daughter of Lucille Ball’s character Helen North, opposite Matheson’s Mike, the son of Henry Fonda’s Frank Beardsley, in a story about a family with 18 children.

Born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1947, Leak embarked on her acting journey with a pilot directed by Mike Nichols for “Wojeck” in the mid-1960s. She was originally cast in Nichols’ “The Graduate” but had to withdraw due to immigration issues.

Leak also became a familiar face in soap operas, appearing as Gwen Sherman in “The Young and the Restless,” Olive Springer Gordon Randolph in “Another World,” and Blanche Bouvier in “Guiding Light.”

By the mid-1980s, Leak had mostly stepped back from acting, choosing to pursue a career as a real estate sales agent.

Her marriage to Matheson spanned from 1968 to 1971, after which she married James D’Auria in 1977. She leaves behind her husband and a brother.
