JoJo Siwa opens up about spending $50,000 on veneers and her journey with personal insecurities, showcasing her unique style at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
JoJo Siwa has openly shared that she has spent an astonishing $50,000 on cosmetic dental work, linking this expenditure to her personal insecurities.
The revelation came from a clip where the 20-year-old “Karma” singer was queried about the most costly item she donned at a recent awards ceremony, to which she humorously responded, “My teeth,” referring to her veneers. “These motherf–kers cost me 50 grand,” she stated during a BuzzFeed interview.
Despite her light-hearted tone, Siwa, known for her role on “Dance Moms,” has been candid about her struggles with self-image. “I judge myself at everything,” she disclosed to E! News last November, expressing, “I’m a very insecure person.”
Siwa elaborated on the scrutiny she faces, especially concerning her hairline, which she attributes to a stress-related condition. “Everything gets judged,” she remarked, “You know, people told me I have a receding hairline, they don’t know that I have a stress rash and that’s why I’m balding right here. A 12-year-old shouldn’t have a stress rash on their head that makes them bald, but I did.”
However, the young Nickelodeon sensation is gradually embracing her unique sense of style and appearance. Siwa turned heads at the iHeartRadio Music Awards at the Dolby Theatre on April 1, sporting a mesh catsuit with black beaded embroidery mimicking flames, complete with Kiss-inspired bat wings attached to her sleeves.
Abandoning her signature high ponytail, she opted for a bold mohawk adorned with curls and braids. Her makeup, featuring a goth-inspired dark lip and black stars around her eyes, paid homage to the iconic looks of Gene Simmons and his Kiss bandmates from the 1970s, sans the white face paint.
Simmons, 74, praised Siwa’s ensemble, telling TMZ, “JoJo is cool. Anybody who doesn’t get it is just jealous, period. Never be ordinary. Always be extraordinary. JoJo is extraordinary and she looks cool. She looks like me, but that’s another story.”
