Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning to Co-Host Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony with NBC
Bollywoodfever, March 13: Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning are teaming up with NBC for a fresh approach to the Paris Olympics coverage this summer.
The celebrated singer and the esteemed NFL icon will co-host the opening ceremony alongside veteran sports commentator Mike Tirico, as announced during their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday evening.
Clarkson shared her relief at the announcement, saying, “I’m so glad we can say it. We’ve been holding this forever.”
Tirico then shared insights with Fallon, explaining, “The opening ceremony is going to be so different and unique. Down the Seine, down the river with the athletes on a boat, so it’s not the stadium where they walk in. It will incorporate Paris.
And the games are going to be amazing as you know, swimming, gymnastics … Team USA in track and field could be incredibly strong, the Dream Team, the U.S. soccer team, the women’s basketball team.” Upon hearing Fallon’s intention to watch from home, Tirico invited him to co-host the Olympics closing ceremony, to which Fallon eagerly agreed, asking, “Are you serious? Is this real? I’m in! I’m in!”
The Hollywood Reporter is seeking confirmation from Fallon’s representative regarding his potential role in hosting the closing ceremony.
Earlier on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Together we are hosting the opening ceremony for the Paris Olympic Games.
You will never see these three individuals do anything else together. This is the most random thing that they’ve done and I am down for the ride.”
NBC’s live broadcast of the opening ceremony is scheduled for July 26, airing on NBC and Peacock starting at noon ET.
