Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour stop in New Orleans is postponed due to illness. The Smoothie King Center announces rescheduling efforts and advises fans to retain their tickets for the new date. Minaj takes additional rest before continuing her tour.
BollywoodFever, March 19: Nicki Minaj‘s performance in New Orleans, scheduled for Monday night (March 18) as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, has been postponed, according to a recent announcement from the Smoothie King Center. Citing health reasons, the venue revealed that Minaj’s illness necessitated a delay of her show in the Big Easy, following her doctor’s advice.
The venue shared via Instagram that, on doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj’s show in New Orleans had to be rescheduled. “Nicki is currently unwell, and in order to prevent any potential spread of illness and ensure she can deliver the performance New Orleans deserves, we’ve made the decision to postpone tonight’s event,” they stated.

While a new date for the concert has not yet been determined, the Smoothie King Center assured that efforts are being made to arrange one as soon as possible. Ticket holders are advised to keep their tickets and await further information.
In light of her health, Minaj will also take an extra day off on Tuesday (March 19) to recover before her upcoming schedule, which includes three shows later in the week. She is set to perform two back-to-back concerts in Atlanta, followed by a performance in Orlando on Friday night (March 22).
The concert at the Smoothie King Center was initially planned to open its doors at 7 p.m. ET, with Minaj expected to perform after Monica around 9 p.m. ET.
Following her performance at Rolling Loud California on Friday night (March 15), Minaj expressed feeling unwell and suspected she might have contracted COVID-19, though she later confirmed a negative test result. “Barbz please send me healing energy. Thought I had Covid this morning. Thankfully, I don’t,” Minaj shared with her fans on X, expressing gratitude and love towards them.
Minaj is touring North America with her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, promoting her latest album, Pink Friday 2. The album achieved significant success, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with sales of 228,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, marking a strong close to 2023.
