A Nigerian court has postponed a money laundering trial involving cryptocurrency exchange Binance and two of its executives to May 17.Â
The adjournment came after Binance’s lawyer stated that he had not received the necessary documents to prepare for the case.
The executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, have been accused of laundering over $35 million and conducting financial activities without a license. They have all pleaded not guilty.
Binance’s lawyer informed the court that he had not been served with the additional evidence required for trial preparation. He was provided with the 300-page document in court, leading to the adjournment for him to review it before the May 17 trial date.
In addition to the money laundering charges, Binance and its executives are also facing four counts of tax evasion, with a separate trial scheduled to resume on May 17.
