Paris Hilton Defends Her Father Amid Uncle Mauricio Umansky’s Revelations
Bollywoodfever, March 13: Paris Hilton has publicly defended her father, Rick Hilton, against comments made by her uncle, Mauricio Umansky, on his Netflix reality show, “Buying Beverly Hills.” Page Six reported that Paris criticized Umansky on Instagram for mentioning her dad and their previous disagreements on the show.
In her post, which responded to a preview shared by the Queens of Bravo Instagram account, Paris stated, “My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press.” She expressed frustration with her uncle’s repeated use of the Hilton name to promote his “lame show,” adding, “It is enough already.”
Umansky, 53, discusses his departure from the Hilton family’s real estate firm, Hilton & Hyland, in Los Angeles over a decade ago in the controversial episode. He felt wronged by the company, saying, “I think I got kind of f***ed by Hilton & Hyland.” He highlighted his significant contribution to the agency, noting, “They did a billion dollars for the first time a year. I was 19.6 per cent of their production.”
He recounted seeking partnership due to his substantial input but was rejected by Rick, leading him to leave and establish The Agency in 2011. This move has led The Agency to become a key player in real estate, featured prominently in his Netflix series.
Umansky also touched on the strain his departure from Hilton & Hyland placed on his relationship with the Hiltons, especially affecting his now-estranged wife, Kyle Richards. The couple separated last year after 27 years of marriage, a development highlighted on her show, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” available on BINGE.
“He revealed, “You know, her family stopped speaking to her. But she understood that what was done to me was wrong and she stood by me and, at the end of the day, I needed that.”
Richards is the sister of Kathy Hilton, who has been married to Rick for over four decades.
Umansky has previously discussed the familial discord, notably in his 2023 book, “The Dealmaker.”
In the book, he suggested that had Rick “paid [him] what [he] deserved” and shown him even a small gesture of “professional love,” he would have remained with Hilton & Hyland.
Further, he told Us Weekly in April 2023 that he believes the family has put the past behind them.
“I just hope that as Rick and the family read my book, they realize that my stories are based on facts and reality, and I’m not targeting them in any way because I love them more than anything,” he said.
