“We’re thrilled to be performing together once more and can’t wait to bring our music and joy to fans across the country. It’s a celebration of 25 years of S Club 7, music, and friendship,” the band shared with their fans. However, shortly after this joyful announcement, Cattermole was found deceased in his Dorset home. Reports indicated his financial situation was dire at the time of his passing. A source revealed to The Sun, “It’s shocking to think a member of such a successful group faced financial difficulties, but those close to Paul might not find it surprising.”

The revelation that despite S Club 7’s massive success, Cattermole experienced financial distress, underscored the harsh realities of the music industry. Reports suggested he had assets amounting to £35,773, but faced debts surpassing £20,000, leaving him with just £15,489.

Cattermole had previously voiced his astonishment at the modest earnings of the band members during their peak, despite their global hits, lucrative endorsements, and television appearances. He lamented on ITV’s Loose Women his unsuccessful attempts to join reality TV shows to improve his financial situation.

In 2019, he criticized the disproportionate earnings between the band and record executives, emphasizing the significant contribution of the artists to the band’s success. He also highlighted the minimal compensation received from Hasbro for an S Club 7 doll collection.

Cattermole even turned to tarot cards for insights into the band’s tour, finding symbols of fortune and passion, hoping for positive outcomes and new beginnings.
