This incident comes amid a broader conversation about celebrity photo editing, sparked by controversy surrounding Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales faced backlash after admitting to altering a photograph of her children she had shared on social media.
The ‘Modern Family’ star, currently a judge on ‘America’s Got Talent’, often posts pictures and selfies from the set. However, some recent photos have caught her followers’ eyes, not for their content but for the use of filters that render Vergara’s appearance impeccably smooth.
These filters, however, have had unintended effects on the audience members captured in the background. Upon closer inspection, some faces appear distorted, startling many followers. Some have even drawn comparisons to the altered faces resembling zombies, reminiscent of scenes from ‘The Walking Dead’ series.
“With those people in the back it looks like they are recording a scene from The Walking Dead”, was one of the comments spotted on Instagram, while someone else questioned: “Is the audience created by AI or are they zombies?”.
