Alongside the attempted murder charge, Holly was also booked for felony aggravated criminal damage to property and felony illegal use of a weapon.

Sheriff Gates detailed that Holly’s arrest stemmed from a shooting incident allegedly involving him on February 9th.

The altercation occurred at an apartment complex following a disturbance at a prior location, resulting in hospitalization for a male and female victim.

After interviewing eyewitnesses, investigators identified Holly and three others as suspects in the shooting. Currently, Holly is held on a $512,000 bond.

LSU issued a statement following Holly’s arrest, announcing his indefinite suspension from all team activities in adherence to departmental protocols.

The university refrained from further comment, citing respect for the ongoing judicial proceedings.

Holly, previously recognized as one of the nation’s top high school running backs, saw limited action during his true freshman season with the Tigers in 2023.

Despite minimal snaps, he managed 11 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown.
