Australian pop star Troye Sivan left fans in shock with some of his X-rated antics on the opening night of his new tour. Sivan took the stage in Lisbon, Portugal, on Wednesday evening to perform tracks from his latest record.
Regularly appearing shirtless, Sivan pushed boundaries with a particularly risque moment where he mimicked a sex act onstage with one of his dancers. The dancer held the microphone in front of him as Sivan dropped to his knees, singing his hit song “Got Me Started.”
Fans quickly took to social media to express their thoughts on Sivan’s performance. Some were concerned about the young audience members, with one fan commenting, “There are children in the crowd,” and another adding, “We don’t need to be doing all that… cancel him.”
However, others praised Sivan’s boldness, with one fan saying, “Wow that was everything,” and another noting, “Can we calm down he’s an adult he can do what he likes.”
The clip has already been viewed over 500,000 times on X, formerly Twitter.
Sivan is currently touring Europe and will soon head to North America to tour with Charli XCX, though he has no scheduled dates in his home country of Australia.
In a recent interview, Sivan opened up about meeting Harry Styles for the first time. “We meet for the first time and I feel like I know him, because it’s Harry Styles,” Sivan told KissFM UK. “So, I’m super, super chill. He walks up to a conversation that I was already having, and I just said to the other people, ‘Oh, I’m just going to go make a wee.’”
Sivan continued, “Then, he arrives and I’m speaking to him, like, ‘Oh my God, congrats on the Grammy.’ Then he’s like, ‘I’m just going to go to the bathroom.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re going to the bathroom? I’m also going to the bathroom. Let’s go!’”
As they walked to the bathroom, Sivan realized the awkwardness of the situation. “I was like, ‘I wonder how he feels about this. Was that just the weirdest, worst thing that I possibly could’ve said in that moment?’”
Fortunately, Sivan found a way out of the situation as Styles got stopped by someone, allowing Sivan to head to the bathroom alone, albeit embarrassed. “I thought about it for the rest of the night. Why did I just ask Harry Styles if we should go to the bathroom together?”
